LNG Esports beat 2021 MSI champions RNG today 3-1 in the 2021 LPL Summer Split playoffs.

Going into this series, RNG were considered the favorites due to their strong performance throughout the regular season, especially in the last few weeks heading into the playoffs. They took down their opponents in convincing fashion and looked ready to secure another LPL title. But LNG popped off in their two previous playoff matches and delivered an outstanding performance today once again, taking down the 2021 LPL Spring Split champions.

T1’s Canna reached a new milestone today of 500 kills in the LCK after his match against Liiv SANDBOX.

The top laner stepped up when it mattered and today’s series was a clear example. He led his team to a crucial third-game victory to complete the clean sweep after a strong Gnar performance, landing game-changing ultimates in the last couple of teamfights.

Faker has reached yet another milestone in his lengthy League of Legends career, picking up his 3,500th assist today in a match against Liiv SANDBOX in the first round of playoffs.

Even though his team didn’t have the best performance throughout the regular season, finishing fourth below DWG KIA, Gen.G, and Nongshim RedForce, Faker continued to have strong showings in most games.

T1 took down Liiv SANDBOX in a clean 3-0 in the first round of the 2021 LCK Summer Split playoffs.

Going into this series, T1 brought back Teddy to the starting roster, who has been absent throughout most of the regular season. He picked up the first MVP vote after a spectacular performance on Ashe, securing the first blood in minutes and landing crucial ultimates later on.

Nongshim RedForce took down Afreeca Freecs in a 3-1 series in the first round of the 2021 LCK Summer Split playoffs.

Going into this series, NS was highly favored considering their performance throughout the regular season. But AFS managed to surprise everyone with a first game upset, before NS bounced back and picked up the following three games to secure today’s series and advance into the next round of playoffs.

Luxury jewelry house Tiffany & Co. is collaborating with LCK to give out commemorative rings to the winners of the LCK splits for the next three years.

This collaboration will begin with the current Summer Split, which will conclude on Aug. 28, according to a translation by Korizon’s Kevin Kim of a Naver article. Outside of the rings awarded to each winner with engraved initials, the Finals MVP will also get a special bracelet.

The artist said that he has been maining Veigar since 2012 and wanted to give him some love with this skin, which also comes with specially made VFX to match the skin.

LCK unveiled the awards for the 2021 LCK Summer Split regular season early today. Nongshim RedForce’s Gori has won the Player of the Split award after accumulating 1,100 points over the season.

He was closely trailed by DK’s Canyon with 1,000 points, and Chovy, Faker, Kiin, and Lava with 900 points. Gori, alongside his teammates and coach, had a great turnaround after a sixth-place finish in the Spring Split. The coach sBS was close to picking up the Best Coach award with 130 points, but was overtaken by DK’s kkOma with 152 points.

Nongshim RedForce’s jungler Peanut has won the MVP award for the 2021 LCK Summer Split regular season.

The 23-year-old League of Legends jungler won the award with 160 points. He was trailed by DK’s ShowMaker with 138 points and Gen.G’s Bdd with 100 points.

The LCK All-Pro teams revealed that there are players from four different teams in its First Team, showing how even the teams have been throughout the summer.

AFS’ Kiin, Nongshim RedForce’s Peanut and deokdam, DWG KIA’s ShowMaker, and T1’s Keria made it to the first team after their strong performances throughout the regular split.
