The lay-offs were announced today in an all-hands meeting, according to reporting from Alex Heath. The Verge’s report makes the issues clear: Discord expanded far too quickly in 2020 following a boom in tech companies during the pandemic. Now, as they’ve become inefficient and bloated, they’re downsizing.

The news today comes from a report from Bloomberg’s Cecilia D’Anastasio. Twitch is the latest company in the wider gaming space to see massive contractions. A leak showed the new features of the ability today. It’s been a long time coming for Deadlock. Every single other Sentinel class agent in the game can redeploy their utility, or their utility is far too strong to be able to be redeployed. Deadlock’s utility takes a long time to activate, and once it does, it’s more often than not just over for the defenders. She needed a buff.
