The 2024 Call of Duty League (CDL) season opener is quickly approaching. And while the 12 teams are preparing by arguing with each other about gentlemen’s agreements, there’s a big question that still needs to be answered: Where can you actually watch the CDL this season?

Parasite, who won the 2013 Call of Duty Championship with Fariko Impact and has since transitioned into being a popular streamer and personality in the CoD community, tweeted out his preferred loadout for the MCW, the most commonly used AR in competitive play, today. As part of the loadout, he, like the Call of Duty League (CDL) players adhering to a gentleman’s agreement, is running a red dot optic sight on his gun. You may find this unnecessary as having an optic on the weapon limits how good it can actually be, which is the point of the CDL GA.

Since Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 was released, the most avid players have been grinding away on classic CoD maps and the new Zombies mode while awaiting the arrival of the game’s first season. And now, we have confirmation of when we’ll be dropping into season one.

Season one of MW3 will launch on Wednesday, Dec. 6, 2023, developer Sledgehammer Games confirmed today on Twitter. The season start date came in a pair of graphics in which Sledgehammer touted the record-setting “engagement” metrics its newest creation has compiled in the nearly two weeks since launch. Along with the start date, Sledgehammer mentioned the new maps and “a ton of content” that is coming with season one, which it already announced on Nov. 17.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 has had a pretty smooth launch, all things considered. But one aspect of the game has been widely criticized: the Prestige system. And while many fans are clamoring for a change, Sledgehammer Games isn’t going to be the CoD developer to do it.

Sledgehammer’s Greg Reisdorf and Adam Iscove spoke about the Prestige topic today on Repullze’s livestream, and they confirmed players will have to wait to rank up beyond level 55 in multiplayer until season one, continuing the unpopular seasonal prestige progression system. Once season one arrives, players should be able to level up through several Prestiges before reaching the new max rank until season two’s launch. Reisdorf said Prestiging in MW3 will be “pretty much how it worked last year” in MW2.

Spanish esports organization Team Heretics has finalized a deal with Call of Duty League (CDL) team Florida Mutineers in which the franchise will be rebranded as the Miami Heretics. The anticipated move became official today as part of the seven-year anniversary celebration of Heretics.

The Heretics CDL roster will retain Vikul, the Mutineers’ lone Spanish player, who will be joined by fellow countrymen Alejandro “Lucky” López, Adrian “MettalZ” Serrano, and Juan “JurNii” Antonio González Muñoz. The latter three were a part of the last Heretics CoD lineup in 2019 during the Black Ops 4 season. Eric “EriKBooM” Ferrer and coach Jorge “MethodZ” Bancells round out the new franchise’s initial roster. It is unclear at this time, though, what Heretics’ four-man starting lineup will look like to kick off the 2024 CDL season.

Some of the very best Call of Duty players in the world will soon collide in a series of events to determine one true “king” among Call of Duty League (CDL) players or Warzone content creators.

Announced today via the CDL Twitter account, the five-part series will begin on Wednesday, Aug. 16, with a $20,000 event. In total, the first four events will offer $20,000 in prizes each before the $70,000 grand finale on Sept. 1, bringing the overall prize pool to $150,000.

The Madden NFL 99 Club is always highly exclusive, and the Madden 24 edition of the group is no exception.

For the uninitiated, the 99 Club is reserved for the select few NFL players who receive a maximum 99 rating in Madden. This year, only five out of the hundreds of players in the game were given the ultimate respect of being in the club. To illustrate the exclusivity of the 99 Club, I should mention that Nick Bosa, the 2022 NFL Defensive Player of the Year, only got a 98 rating.
