Like a Parrot?]]>Just when you think you’ve seen it all in Yakuza, Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii has been announced and not only ups the ante but could be one of the most outlandish entries the franchise has ever seen.
Sega unveiled the newest Like A Dragon iteration at the Sept. 20, 2024, RGG Summit show. Its debut trailer feels very much like an extension of Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth, and there were no mentions of DLC or spinoffs—making this a full, mainline entry in the Like A Dragon series arriving on Feb. 28, 2025.

Like a Dragon Wars must have been a mouthful.]]>I love the Yakuza (or Like a Dragon) series. I’ve played every game, even Dead Souls. I know Kamurocho like the back of my hand and can belt out Baka Mitai with the best of them—but even I can’t find anything to like about Yakuza Wars.
The lull between mainline Like a Dragon games is always an interesting time for the fanbase. There’s discussion of what came before and speculation on what might come next. When Yakuza Wars was publicly trademarked earlier this year, there was quite a buzz about what it could mean for the series: real-time strategy spinoff, maybe? Standalone expansion on Yakuza 6‘s Yakuza clan creation minigame? As of today, though, the truth has been revealed, and it is, crushingly, just another dime-a-dozen mobile gacha game.

Good news for Like a Dragon: Yakuza fans.]]>Streaming giant Prime Video is set to release Like a Dragon: Yakuza, a live-action series adaptation of SEGA’s iconic Yakuza game franchise.
The show will premiere in two batches of three episodes each, on Oct. 25 and Nov. 1. Directed by Take Masaharu and Takimoto Kengo, the six-part crime-suspense-action series will star Takeuchi Ryoma as Kiryu Kazuma.

Wide as an ocean and just as deep.]]>The story of Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth doesn’t truly begin until you wake up naked on a foreign beach with no memory of how you got there. Some people thrive most when they’re at their lowest, and Like a Dragon (formerly Yakuza)’s poster boy, Ichiban Kasuga, manages to make rock bottom look good. You can’t help but root for him as he picks himself back up again and again, and it’s that very same boundless optimism and golden-retriever charisma that keeps allies and players alike invested.
On the surface, throwing Ichiban into a larger-than-life vacation on the sandy shores of Hawaii is an easy sell for most people who enjoyed Yakuza: Like a Dragon, but it’s what’s below the surface that makes Infinite Wealth truly special.

It's a tropical adventure. ]]>SEGA released a new promotional video for Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth on Jan. 11 featuring American comedian and actor Druski.
The new Infinite Wealth trailer, called “Welcome to Paradise with Druski,” runs for just over a minute, and features the comedian-actor portraying a tour guide in Hawaii. He discusses some of the activities vacation-goers can enjoy in the state, while also hyping up fans about the “secrets” players can uncover while exploring the paradise.
