And what better way to celebrate than with a brand new teaser for the second season of The Last of Us television series?
Mainly adapting the story of The Last of Us Part II, the teaser showcases a time jump that sees Joel and Ellie grappling with the decisions the former made at the end of last season while still dealing with hostile human factions and massive amounts of infected. Several new characters will make their debut this season, including Ellie’s girlfriend Dina, Ellie and Dina’s friend Jesse, and Jeffrey Wright as militia leader Isaac (a role he originated in the video game). But the biggest newcomer is Kaitlyn Dever as Abby, whose quest for vengeance will change everyone’s lives.

The focus of the teaser, posted to X (formerly Twitter) on Aug. 5, is Joel, who talks with Catherine O’Hara’s new, unnamed character about what had happened by the end of season one. She could be some sort of therapist since she asks Joel if he hurt Ellie. “No. I saved her,” Pedro Pascal answers.

A simultaneous release seems to be Sony's top priority.]]>Naughty Dog has apparently had all the work for the long-awaited The Last of Us Part II PC release done since as early as November last year, but the company is reportedly holding fire on dropping the port for computer gamers.
This comes from reliable industry leaker Billbil-kun, who has suggested Sony is interested in tying the PC release with the second season of HBO’s The Last Of Us TV adaptation—currently slated to air in 2025. Although that sophomore season won’t cover the game’s entire story, it would make sense to have them drop together to boost sales for the new PC title and spike interest in the already very popular show.

Now, however, he’s stated that several of his answers were cut down and taken out of context, including a lofty prediction about the studio’s next game.
This all began after a Sony interview with Druckmann a few days ago. The company will occasionally put these out to showcase some of the talent at the many, many studios under their banner, but Druckmann’s stood out for a few reasons. The veteran game director went to bat for AI in game development, as well as apparently declaring that Naughty Dog’s next game will “[redefine] mainstream perceptions of gaming.”

They have a point. ]]>The Last of Us season two is currently filming and the first set photos are leaking online. So far, fans are pleased with the setup HBO is creating for the show, but many aren’t happy with the timeskip.
The latest photos show newcomer Isabela Merced, who’s joining the The Last of Us cast in season two as Dina, and Bella Ramsey, who’s returning as Ellie. Fans are pointing out how Ramsey did a terrific job portraying younger Ellie in season one, but she doesn’t look older in the first photos from season two, which is supposed to take place five years later.

At the very end of Grounded II: Making The Last of Us Part II, he said he just recently came up with a concept for the game. And while Druckmann didn’t outright confirm full-fledged development is underway, Naughty Dog currently has no other projects announced at this time.

It appears that Sony is notifying purchasers who already own The Last of Us Part 2 on PS4 that they can get the game at a massively discounted price. To stop them from wasting any money, it seems that their pre-orders have been refunded, as first pointed out in a post to the r/gaming subreddit.
