Blizzard veteran Mike Morhaime has stepped down from his position as Blizzard Entertainment president.\u00a0World of Warcraft<\/em> executive producer\u00a0J. Allen Brack will succeed Morhaime.<\/p>
Morhaime founded Blizzard 27 years ago, when the company was originally called Silicon & Synapse. He’ll stay with the company as a strategic advisor to Blizzard. Alongside Brack’s appointment, Blizzard named Ray Gresko and Blizzard founder Allen Adham to the company’s executive leadership team.<\/p>
“J. has been with Blizzard for over 12 years leading the\u00a0World of Warcraft<\/em> team, and it takes vision, creativity, and unwavering commitment to excellence to sustain a community of players the way J. has for a decade,” Activision Blizzard CEO Bobby Kotick said in a statement. “J. is an inspiring leader. He has shown unwavering commitment to our community, to innovation and creative excellence and he cares deeply about ensuring the very best of Blizzard culture will be protected.”<\/p>
