Building a balanced team is important when in Apex<\/em> Legends<\/em>, as all Legends are also divided into five distinct classes, each with a unique passive trait: Assault, Support, Skirmisher, Recon, and Controller.<\/p>

With each new season and Legend introduced to the Apex Games, characters are constantly changed and moved into different classes, with their role on the team defined more clearly and enabling a greater sense of team building when at the Legend select screen. Some legends offer direct benefits to their team through collectible items, while others provide exclusive information to decide where to find enemies and fight at. Here are all the legend classes in Apex Legends<\/em>.<\/p>

These stats are accurate as of Apex Legends Shockwave, Season 22.<\/em><\/p>

All Apex Legends <\/em>classes and class perks in season 22<\/h2>

Assault<\/h3>

Assault legends are “all about combat utility and initiation,” according to lead legend designer Devan McGuire. These characters can use their abilities to force enemies into bad combat decisions and can initiate an engagement with their abilities to start a fight at an advantage.<\/p>

Passively, Assault characters can carry extra ammo in each backpack slot, and can access red Assault Bins, which contain smart loot that fits the weapons of each team member.<\/p>

    Skirmisher<\/h3>

    Skirmisher legends focus on combat mobility and flanking, providing them with unique ways to engage\u2014and with a quick escape if an engagement goes south. “They’re good flankers, they have a hit-and-run style of play, they get into a fight and get out of it just as quickly,” according to McGuire. <\/p>

    The Skirmisher class ability allows them to scan neutral care packages while they’re dropping or when they have landed on the map, seeing the most valuable item and if the package has been looted by another team.<\/p>

      If a team has a Pathfinder and another Skirmisher legend has scanned a neutral care package, it will not trigger his Insider Knowledge passive. Pathfinder must scan the care package himself to trigger his passive and refund the cooldown on his ultimate ability.<\/p>

      Recon<\/h3>

      The roster of Recon legends hasn’t changed much since the Season 16 adjustments, though Valk has been sitting comfortably among the Skirmisher legends. Recon characters continue to use their abilities to gather intel on opponents and share it with their team. <\/p>

      Survey Beacons have changed in season 22, and now only take three seconds to use, but have less than half of the previous duration. Scanning one with a Recon legend will reveal players on the mini-map for all friendly squad members within 500 meters, pulsing three times over 15 seconds, with each pulse revealing the enemies in range for five seconds. This ability can only be used once per Survey Beacon, and even if a squad has multiple Recon legends, each beacon can only be used once per team.<\/p>

      Additionally, all Recon legends now gain Threat Vision when aiming down sights, similar to the removed x1 Digital Threat scope. However, unlike the Digital Threat sight, Threat Vision will not work through walls or smoke abilities, and is limited in range by the type of currently equipped weapon scope and zoom range of an ability, such as Vantage’s passive.<\/p>

        Controller<\/h3>

        Controllers “are all about area setup and control,” McGuire said. These legends can set down their abilities in the world to “control their positioning and force enemies to fight on their turf,” and are adept at holding zones.<\/p>

        Controller legends reveal the position of the next ring with the Ring Consoles scattered across each map. Unlike Recon legends, Ring Consoles can be used more than once, during each successive ring close.<\/p>

        Season 22 introduced an additional perk to the Controller class: Zone Overcharge, which gives all Controller legends an overcharge of 25 shield capacity while standing inside the current zone. The capacity is a permanent upgrade, unless the legend steps outside of the zone, where the overcharge will be lost over a five second delay, similar to Conduit’s temporary shields from Radiant Transfer.<\/p>

        The Zone Overcharge shield can be healed with any shield consumable items while playing inside the zone. If a player enters the zone at full shields, the overcharge will fill automatically, exactly like when leveling up a shield’s Evo level, but will never enhance armor beyond the level four capacity and 125 max shield limit.<\/p>

          Support<\/h3>

          “Support legends have innately a more team-oriented focus that’s encouraged by their abilities and look for opportunities to protect, recover, or resupply their squad,” according to McGuire. These legends can help their team survive directly and keep them stocked with what they might need to stay in the fight.<\/p>

          Support legends can access blue Support Bins, which contain guaranteed healing and survival items, including one shield battery per bin. A team running a Support legend can also craft fallen allies’ respawn banners for 30 crafting materials, even if the timer for an ally has already expired, ready to use at any natural or mobile respawn beacon.<\/p>

With each new season and Legend introduced to the Apex Games, characters are constantly changed and moved into different classes, with their role on the team defined more clearly and enabling a greater sense of team building when at the Legend select screen. Some legends offer direct benefits to their team through collectible items, while others provide exclusive information to decide where to find enemies and fight at. Here are all the legend classes in Apex Legends. These stats are accurate as of Apex Legends Shockwave, Season 22. All Apex Legends classes and class perks in season 22 Assault Assault legends are \"all about combat utility and initiation,\" according to lead legend designer Devan McGuire. These characters can use their abilities to force enemies into bad combat decisions and can initiate an engagement with their abilities to start a fight at an advantage. Passively, Assault characters can carry extra ammo in each backpack slot, and can access red Assault Bins, which contain smart loot that fits the weapons of each team member. Bangalore Fuse Ash Mad Maggie Ballistic Skirmisher Skirmisher legends focus on combat mobility and flanking, providing them with unique ways to engage\u2014and with a quick escape if an engagement goes south. \"They're good flankers, they have a hit-and-run style of play, they get into a fight and get out of it just as quickly,\" according to McGuire. The Skirmisher class ability allows them to scan neutral care packages while they're dropping or when they have landed on the map, seeing the most valuable item and if the package has been looted by another team. Wraith Pathfinder Octane Horizon Valkyrie Revenant Alter If a team has a Pathfinder and another Skirmisher legend has scanned a neutral care package, it will not trigger his Insider Knowledge passive. Pathfinder must scan the care package himself to trigger his passive and refund the cooldown on his ultimate ability. Recon The roster of Recon legends hasn't changed much since the Season 16 adjustments, though Valk has been sitting comfortably among the Skirmisher legends. Recon characters continue to use their abilities to gather intel on opponents and share it with their team. Survey Beacons have changed in season 22, and now only take three seconds to use, but have less than half of the previous duration. Scanning one with a Recon legend will reveal players on the mini-map for all friendly squad members within 500 meters, pulsing three times over 15 seconds, with each pulse revealing the enemies in range for five seconds. This ability can only be used once per Survey Beacon, and even if a squad has multiple Recon legends, each beacon can only be used once per team. Additionally, all Recon legends now gain Threat Vision when aiming down sights, similar to the removed x1 Digital Threat scope. However, unlike the Digital Threat sight, Threat Vision will not work through walls or smoke abilities, and is limited in range by the type of currently equipped weapon scope and zoom range of an ability, such as Vantage's passive. Bloodhound Crypto Seer Vantage Controller Controllers \"are all about area setup and control,\" McGuire said. These legends can set down their abilities in the world to \"control their positioning and force enemies to fight on their turf,\" and are adept at holding zones. Controller legends reveal the position of the next ring with the Ring Consoles scattered across each map. Unlike Recon legends, Ring Consoles can be used more than once, during each successive ring close. Season 22 introduced an additional perk to the Controller class: Zone Overcharge, which gives all Controller legends an overcharge of 25 shield capacity while standing inside the current zone. The capacity is a permanent upgrade, unless the legend steps outside of the zone, where the overcharge will be lost over a five second delay, similar to Conduit's temporary shields from Radiant Transfer. The Zone Overcharge shield can be healed with any shield consumable items while playing inside the zone. If a player enters the zone at full shields, the overcharge will fill automatically, exactly like when leveling up a shield's Evo level, but will never enhance armor beyond the level four capacity and 125 max shield limit. Caustic Wattson Rampart Catalyst Support \"Support legends have innately a more team-oriented focus that's encouraged by their abilities and look for opportunities to protect, recover, or resupply their squad,\" according to McGuire. These legends can help their team survive directly and keep them stocked with what they might need to stay in the fight. Support legends can access blue Support Bins, which contain guaranteed healing and survival items, including one shield battery per bin. A team running a Support legend can also craft fallen allies' respawn banners for 30 crafting materials, even if the timer for an ally has already expired, ready to use at any natural or mobile respawn beacon.
