Vlaakith and Lae'Zel ask you to enter the Planecaster and kill a prisoner. When you are in the Planecaster and talk with your Dream Visitor, you're given two choices: whether you should kill the Dream Visitor or keep them alive. Who is the Dream Visitor in BG3? The Dream Visitor is the Guardian you create after you've created your character in BG3. In the beginning, not much is known about this Dream Visitor or Guardian other than that they want you to embrace and strengthen your Illithid Powers. This is surprising, considering they claim they're the reason why you haven't turned into a Mindflayer and are protecting you from the negative side effects of the tadpole. However, there's more to them than meets the eye, and they hold a pivotal role in the story. How to trigger the Dream Visitor in BG3 The Dream Visitor's first encounter with you will be when you visit the Goblin Camp and Long Rest right after. If you want encounters to be more often after your first visit, using your Ilithid powers should speed up their meetings with you. You can use the Illithid powers in conversations with the [Illithid][Wisdom] options. Should you enter the Planecaster or leave the area in BG3? Upon encountering the Planecaster, you have a choice: Whether to enter it or leave the area altogether. There are consequences to both but the best option here is to enter the Planecaster. Choice one: Leave the area and the consequences If you leave the Planecaster and disobey Vlaakith, Lae'zel will leave your party and try to kill you. This will require a reload to fix this problem as it is unavoidable. You can leave the area through the main door or by solving a statue puzzle, the same one found in the Blood of Lathander Legendary Mace quest. To solve the puzzle, turn the left statue to the back of the room and the right statue towards the room's entrance. Choice two: Enter the Planecaster and the consequences The best choice is to enter the Planecaster. When you enter, you are given two more choices: either side with Vlaakith and kill the Dream Visitor or defy Vlaakith and don't kill the Dream Visitor. Lae'zel will not try to kill you if you enter the planecaster, so this is the better choice. What happens if you attack the Dream Visitor? Killing the Dream Visitor has no effect on them other than them saying they lost trust in you. Killing the Dream Visitor was all a test. By trying to kill them, they become distraught with you. If you thought that was all there was to it, you're in for a not-so-shocking realization that Vlaakith tricked you, and you'll be attacked when you return to their camp\u2014which isn't fun. What happens if you don't attack the Dream Visitor? If you decide not to attack your Dream Visitor, they will be grateful for your trust. But choosing this option means you'll still get attacked at the camp. However, you can finally sway Lae'Zel away from her lying Queen. So, that's a win if you are looking for a relationship with Lae'Zel. Should you kill the Dream Visitor in BG3? Answered You should choose to enter the Planecaster and not kill the Dream Visitor because you not only gain favor with your Guardian but can sway Lae'Zel away from her Queen. Vlaakith did trick you and was planning to attack you back at the camp, so that's all the justification you need for your defiance. Vlaakith and Lae'Zel ask you to enter the Planecaster and kill a prisoner. When you are in the Planecaster and talk with your Dream Visitor, you're given two choices: whether you should kill the Dream Visitor or keep them alive. Who is the Dream Visitor in BG3? The Dream Visitor is the Guardian you create after you've created your character in BG3. In the beginning, not much is known about this Dream Visitor or Guardian other than that they want you to embrace and strengthen your Illithid Powers. This is surprising, considering they claim they're the reason why you haven't turned into a Mindflayer and are protecting you from the negative side effects of the tadpole. However, there's more to them than meets the eye, and they hold a pivotal role in the story. How to trigger the Dream Visitor in BG3 The Dream Visitor's first encounter with you will be when you visit the Goblin Camp and Long Rest right after. If you want encounters to be more often after your first visit, using your Ilithid powers should speed up their meetings with you. You can use the Illithid powers in conversations with the [Illithid][Wisdom] options. Should you enter the Planecaster or leave the area in BG3? Upon encountering the Planecaster, you have a choice: Whether to enter it or leave the area altogether. There are consequences to both but the best option here is to enter the Planecaster. Choice one: Leave the area and the consequences If you leave the Planecaster and disobey Vlaakith, Lae'zel will leave your party and try to kill you. This will require a reload to fix this problem as it is unavoidable. You can leave the area through the main door or by solving a statue puzzle, the same one found in the Blood of Lathander Legendary Mace quest. To solve the puzzle, turn the left statue to the back of the room and the right statue towards the room's entrance. Choice two: Enter the Planecaster and the consequences The best choice is to enter the Planecaster. When you enter, you are given two more choices: either side with Vlaakith and kill the Dream Visitor or defy Vlaakith and don't kill the Dream Visitor. Lae'zel will not try to kill you if you enter the planecaster, so this is the better choice. What happens if you attack the Dream Visitor? Killing the Dream Visitor has no effect on them other than them saying they lost trust in you. Killing the Dream Visitor was all a test. By trying to kill them, they become distraught with you. If you thought that was all there was to it, you're in for a not-so-shocking realization that Vlaakith tricked you, and you'll be attacked when you return to their camp\u2014which isn't fun. What happens if you don't attack the Dream Visitor? If you decide not to attack your Dream Visitor, they will be grateful for your trust.
