It’s officially been one year since the release of Lies of P, the Soulslike RPG that puts a dark spin on the classic tale of Pinocchio pitting him against vicious puppets as he tries to uncover the secrets of a dystopian city—and the game’s DLC is one the way

Since its release, fans have been eagerly anticipating how developers Neowiz Games and Round8 Studio continue the story. The developers confirmed last year that DLC was in the works for Lies of P, and game director Jiwon Choi offered fans another update today on how the DLC is coming along. In an open letter posted on X/Twitter, Choi thanked all of the fans for their support and reaffirmed that the teams are still hard at work making both the DLC and a sequel. Choi also thanked his colleagues for all of their work, and reflected on how much time has passed between the game’s release and now. But most excitingly, he closed out the letter by offering up two little teasers for the upcoming content.

Lies of P is one of the most successful and critically acclaimed Soulslikes in recent years. As such, it’s no surprise that a DLC was announced to be in development quickly after its launch. However, it seems that the extra content has now been delayed from its expected release window.

Publisher Neowiz’s earning reports from the first quarter noted that Lies of P‘s upcoming DLC is slated for a 2024 release, specifically in the second half of the year. As highlighted in a Reddit post, however, the publisher has not mentioned the DLC in its recently released report for Q3 2024, suggesting that it may have been internally delayed.

Throughout your journey in Lies of P, you find ringing phones scattered across Krat. When you pick up the phone, Arlecchino, the “King of Riddles” gives you a riddle to solve. Answer it and get a Trinity Key that opens one of five locked Trinity Rooms hidden around Krat.

There are valuable treasures inside Trinity Rooms, like cosmetic items, puppet parts, and Quartz to upgrade your P-Organ, so you should always be on the lookout. Whenever you get a Trinity Key, make sure to backtrack to a locked Trinity Door and open it to claim its loot.

Two of the most influential Soulslike games not produced by FromSoftware will enter an official collaboration for a Lies of P DLC, the game’s developers have announced. The DLC comes in the form of a new armor set and weapon and is due out later this month.

On Feb. 7, Lies of P developers posted an announcement trailer on YouTube showcasing the upcoming collaboration between themselves and Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty. The showcased DLC takes the shape of a Wo Long-inspired armor set and a new weapon, the Azure Dragon Crescent Glaive, with all the dragon fire and style you could expect from anything Wo Long-related. This is the two games’ second collaboration, with Wo Long including weapons from Lies of P in September 2023. The added content will also feature in Wo Long‘s Complete Edition, which launched today.

Lies of P players woke up to a nightmare upon finding out their save files had completely disappeared after the game’s latest patch.

The developer, Neowiz, quickly released a statement on Nov. 15 and a band-aid solution, but for some players, it was already too late.

Since Elden Ring, there have been plenty of Soulslike titles to arrive in stores but none have had the impact Lies of P did earlier this year, and it appears there’s more to come.

Lies of P is getting a sequel, game director Ji Won Choi confirmed in a video released on Oct. 31. Now that the game has passed the milestone of one million sales the team is turning their attention to not only DLC but also a second Lies of P game.

The video, released on Nov. 1, confirms one of the locations will take place in a water-processing plane or an advanced sewer system. The other image showed a ship, possibly a pirate ship, which may pay homage to the original story. Will we actually get a level inside a whale’s stomach? We can only hope.

Lies of P is a formidable challenge on its own, with unforgiving combat, aggressive enemies, and ruthless bosses. One Redditor took the challenge to the next level by beating the entire game using only mouth controls, and it’s safe to say the community is stunned.

User u/ZealousidealRoad1219 shared his impressive feat to Reddit on Oct. 27. In the post, he explains that he’s paralyzed from the shoulders down, so uses a mouth controller to play video games. To say the community was impressed is an understatement: One user replied “Whoa, awesome,” while another said, “You sir are incredible!”

Lies of P, a Soulslike action RPG from publisher Neowiz and developer Round8, launched last month to great critical success and has already garnered a solid fanbase. Now, despite being out for less than a month, it seems the publisher already has plans for a DLC.

A recent job listing for Lies of P on Neowiz’s website specified that DLC is planned for production. The post was spotted and circulated on X, formerly known as Twitter, by user @Okami13_ and others. It’s not uncommon for Soulslikes to have several DLCs, so it doesn’t come as a surprise that Lies of P is joining the pack.

Lies of P just got a surprise update that we’re sure is going to be divisive. Update 1.2 dropped, and it features a few major changes that will considerably lessen the difficulty in the mid-to-late game.

The update makes various adjustments to combat, including giving P a higher chance to stagger and longer stagger times. On top of this, several bosses will have less health or deal less damage, and it sounds like Fable Arts will have hyper armor, which could stop your heavy hitters from being interrupted at the last second.
