With the release of Two Legends and the huge Trafalgar Law ban heading into the new expansion, the One Piece metagame is set for another big reshuffle. While some top options are still expected to stay as viable as ever, fresher faces should also now step out from under Law’s oppressive removal-heavy thumb.

For those who play and collect the One Piece Card Game, it seems like there’s a new product line to buy or booster packet to open nearly every month. While it’s not quite that often, the One Piece trading game has been popping out expansions and pack extras quite regularly since it debuted three years ago.

To today, One Piece Card Game has eight set releases, ranging from mainline expansions to extra booster products. There are at least another five sets on the horizon too, with Bandai Namco confirming several 2025 releases.

The One Piece Card Game debuted in late 2022 to huge fanfare, with trading card fans and manga readers alike flocking to the Bandai Namco release to scoop up their favorite characters and build incredible decks.

In the three years since the One Piece Card Game dropped, Bandai has already released nearly a dozen mainline sets, several supplement products, and as many as 20 decks split between Starter and Ultimate designs. Bandai Namco’s One Piece Card Game boasts a veritable pirates’ horde when it comes to Starter Decks (and deck variants), with more than a dozen already hitting shelves in the time between Romance Dawn and today.

Because there are so many One Piece decks, it’s important to make sure you’re buying the best ones, whether it’s sealed packs that can be played straight out of the box or older Starter packets that carry competitive staples. While you can always collect other strong cards, starting off right can be enough to survive the Grand Line.

Prices for One Piece Card Game Romance Dawn Leaders, Secret and Super Rares, and alternate art foils have skyrocketed in the years after the game’s English launch, leaving many of the OP-01 chase cards worth quite a bit of money.

The One Piece Card Game made its official English debut on Dec. 2, 2022, and nearly immediately booster packs, starter decks, and boxes sold out across the U.S. and worldwide. While second and third-wave releases have since rolled out (and continue to hit shelves in 2024), One Piece’s popularity has certainly spiked card prices for its early sets.

Alternate special rarity cards have driven early interest in One Piece Card Game’s OP-08 expansion, Two Legends, with one Whole Cake Island villain and a Rogers Pirate among the top-billed chase cards to look out for in your packs and boxes.

Now that One Piece’s eighth set, Two Legends, has finally hit trading store shelves, we can take a look at all the cards worth serious money on the secondary market. These are, of course, subject to price changes as OP-08 stock continues to drop (and we’ll update accordingly as it does) but most high-rarity cards will hold high demand.

Whether it’s because you want to beat your friends playing on the kitchen table or you’re preparing to conqueror the competitive One Piece Card Game scene, knowing which Leader cards have the edge is always important.

Sometimes the difference between one pirate commander and another is simply their strong statlines—many Leaders on the Grand Line boast powerful 6,000-strengthed attacks—while other times the abilities and keywords packaged with the cards (often themed around Devil Fruit or Haki powers) can be the reason they’re so busted.
