Setting up for future films?]]>Sonic the Hedgehog 3 is only a few days away from launching in cinemas worldwide, but that hasn’t stopped what appears to be the movie’s post-credit scene from being showcased online in an apparent leak.
The scene, posted on 4chan and Reddit, appears to happen at the end of the movie. It introduces two big Sonic characters to the movieverse for the first time and seems to set the story for future movie installments.

There are a couple of skins available, including the Terios skin for Shadow in the Shadow Generations storyline and two old-school skins for both Modern and Classic Sonic in Sonic Generations mode, but trying to find out how to change your character skins while playing isn’t exactly explained well.

Want every Chao location in Green Hill Zone? Look no further.]]>Chao is a new collectible in Sonic x Shadow Generations that offers a new way of looking at levels you might have completed in the original game.
Each level has six Chao to find, split between Act 1 and Act 2, and unlocking them gives you special bonuses in your collector’s menu in the primary stage select screen. Green Hill Zone is the first stage you drop into, and while some of the Chao are easy to find to help you acknowledge their existence, there are some you can easily miss if you’re going too fast.

The world just can't get enough of Reeves' Shadow.]]>He’s already stealing hearts everywhere as the voice of Shadow the Hedgehog in the upcoming live-action sequel Sonic the Hedgehog 3, but Keanu Reeves has made it perfectly clear that he isn’t done playing the character just yet.
At Tuesday’s State of Play, it was announced that Keanu Reeves would be returning as the voice of Shadow for an upcoming Sonic x Shadow Generations DLC, fittingly named the “Sonic the Hedgehog 3 Movie Pack.” Sonic the Hedgehog 3 arrives in theaters on Dec. 20, but fans can enjoy the DLC a week early as it drops on Dec. 12.

Taking place after the events of the second film and the Knuckles miniseries, Sonic The Hedgehog 3 finds the blue hedgehog reuniting with his friends Tails and Knuckles as they band together to take down Shadow the Hedgehog, one of Sonic’s most iconic rivals, after he escapes from a secret government facility and threatens to destroy Sonic’s found family. Shadow’s immense power is so strong that it forces Sonic and his friends to team up with Dr. Robotnik/Eggman.

The leaker has accurately leaked early information on other Sega titles like the Persona series, developed by Sega subsidiary Atlus. On June 7, Midori tweeted that Sonic the Hedgehog fans should “Please look forward to the future of Chao.”

A match made in heaven!]]>Keanu Reeves, famed for his roles in the John Wick and The Matrix franchises, is set to voice Shadow in Sonic the Hedgehog 3. In the short time since the announcement, the gaming community has already voiced its excitement for this ideal match-up. We think it’s a match made in heaven.
Paramount’s recent CinemaCon showcase revealed the actor will be the voice of Shadow. In the showcase, a dispirited Dr. Robotnik, portrayed by Jim Carrey, rejuvenates after creating Shadow the Hedgehog, a dark and brooding counterpart to Sonic with similar abilities.

People love the cutscene animations.]]>Apple Arcade exclusive Sonic Dream Team will be launching tomorrow, Dec. 5. But at least one fan was able to try the game out early and has shared roughly 30 minutes of footage online.
YouTuber SonicWindBlue’s footage covers the game’s opening act, which includes the tutorial, a boss fight, and a handful of cutscenes. The game’s plot involves Sonic and friends being trapped inside of a dream world thanks to Dr. Eggman’s latest scheme, and they must team up with a new character called Ariem to escape.

Sega hopes sales will bump up over Christmas.]]>During Sega’s latest financial results briefing with investors, the company admitted that Sonic Superstars underperformed at launch, noting the “significant” impact of games launched around the same time by its competitors. While Sega doesn’t name any exact examples when asked by investors, anyone who pays attention to release schedules knows exactly which games are to blame. Sonic Superstars launched on Oct. 17, just a few days before Super Mario Bros. Wonder and Spider-Man 2 both arrived on Oct. 20 and proceeded to dominate the sales charts.
Sonic may be a popular character, but his newest game frankly never stood a chance against Mario or Spider-Man, let alone both of them at the same time. Maybe Sega had its reasons for not pushing it back a month or two but whatever the case, none of the higher-ups should be shocked to see it underperform.
