An end of an era, but the potential beginning of another.]]>Regular updates for Splatoon 3 are coming to an end, Nintendo announced on Sept. 15. The game will still be playable and receive balance patches and monthly challenges, but new content won’t be coming to the shooter after a little over two years of support.
Fans of Nintendo‘s team-based shooter Splatoon 3 have enjoyed a large number of content updates and in-game events over the last couple of years. New weapons and stages were added over time, and the single-player DLC Side Order also came out earlier this year. Most recently, another Splatfest was held, where players were divided into teams and competed against each other in Turf Wars to accumulate points. But all good things must come to an end.

Community guidelines breached.]]>According to Nintendo, the 2024 Splatoon 3 World Champions, team Jackpot, lost their titles after breaking tournament and community guidelines.
Nintendo announced the stripping of Jackpot’s titles on social media on July 23, 2024, releasing a statement saying the team “acted in a manner that is not in line with [its] Community Guidelines.” As a result, their win has been invalidated.

Switch is up?]]>A prominent leaker is sensationally claiming a new Splatoon game is in active development and goes by the codename “Spiral” internally at Nintendo.
The leak comes from Midori, a Nintendo leaker who has been throwing out a lot of supposed leaks this past week. They even claimed a new Zelda game and a new entry in the Nintendo Sports series are being developed.

Could this be the catalyst for a new meta?]]>Splatoon 3 announced Chill Season on Nov. 16, the sixth wave of content which brings new weapons, maps, cosmetics, and more for the winter season, but the community has focused on one special weapon in particular which shares many of its characteristics with another popular shooter.
The Splatoon North America account has started posting information leading up to Chill Season’s Dec. 1 launch, including new weapons and kits. Included in the newest teasers is the introduction of the Splattercolor Screen, the newest special weapon to be introduced since the Super Chump on Feb. 18.

It's no Trick, all Splatoon players are in for a holiday Treat.]]>When it comes to seasonal events, Splatoon has never missed, always eager to theme a Splatfest around the current holiday in every region.
The Splatoon North America account announced the dates for the title’s first Splatoween event on the Switch, returning after Splatoon 2’s Trick or Treat event in 2020. The celebration will last for three days from Oct 27 to 29 but contains much more updates than a standard Splatfest, featuring new seasonal overhauls and balance changes.
