How to start A Veil of Gossamer Clouds in Dragon's Dogma 2 To start this quest, head to Vernworth and stroll down the street behind Shakir's Inn until an NPC approaches you with a request to meet Sven. Then, make your way to Vernworth castle\u2014ideally during the day, to steer clear of guard troubles. How to find Sven's room in Veil of Gossamer Clouds Sven's room is on the second floor, just beyond the Guest Chambers. Here's a quick step-by-step guide on how to find the room: Facing the castle's front entrance, go down the right-hand side of the building. Keep running and stick to the left side until you see a small handful of steps leading up to a door. Enter the door so that you're in \"The Guardhouse.\" Carry on straight through the door on the other side of the room. Once out, immediately turn right and go forward. Run in a straight under two mini-archways and go up two sets of stairs. Now, run under more archways, past a red carpet, more archways, and turn right to a green carpet. Get close to the door, and it should say \"Sven's Chambers.\" Talk to him, and he'll hand you a letter, kicking off A Veil of Gossamer Clouds. How to investigate the intent behind the unfinished letter The initial clue in this Dragon's Dogma 2 quest is that the letter is addressed to Phaesus. Depending on your progress in the main quest and exploration of Battahl, you might know Phaesus is an NPC located in the Flamebearer Palace, specifically in the Forbidden Magick Research Lab in Bakbattahl. Head there during daylight to avoid issues with the guards. To reach Bakbattahl in the first place to get to the Flamebearer Palace, you can simply make your way to Checkpoint Rest Town and use the Oxcart Station to take you straight there. Thankfully, Veil of Gossamer Clouds is not a timed or missable quest in Dragon's Dogma 2, so now that we've got that question out of the way, let's get straight into the quest and how to complete it. How to start A Veil of Gossamer Clouds in Dragon's Dogma 2 To start this quest, head to Vernworth and stroll down the street behind Shakir's Inn until an NPC approaches you with a request to meet Sven. Then, make your way to Vernworth castle\u2014ideally during the day, to steer clear of guard troubles. How to find Sven's room in Veil of Gossamer Clouds Sven's room is on the second floor, just beyond the Guest Chambers. Here's a quick step-by-step guide on how to find the room: Facing the castle's front entrance, go down the right-hand side of the building. Keep running and stick to the left side until you see a small handful of steps leading up to a door. Enter the door so that you're in \"The Guardhouse.\" Carry on straight through the door on the other side of the room. Once out, immediately turn right and go forward. Run in a straight under two mini-archways and go up two sets of stairs. Now, run under more archways, past a red carpet, more archways, and turn right to a green carpet. Get close to the door, and it should say \"Sven's Chambers.\" Talk to him, and he'll hand you a letter, kicking off A Veil of Gossamer Clouds. How to investigate the intent behind the unfinished letter The initial clue in this Dragon's Dogma 2 quest is that the letter is addressed to Phaesus. Depending on your progress in the main quest and exploration of Battahl, you might know Phaesus is an NPC located in the Flamebearer Palace, specifically in the Forbidden Magick Research Lab in Bakbattahl. Head there during daylight to avoid issues with the guards. To reach Bakbattahl in the first place to get to the Flamebearer Palace, you can simply make your way to Checkpoint Rest Town and use the Oxcart Station to take you straight there. As usual, be prepared in case your journey is interrupted at some point by enemies. Once you reach the Flamebearer Palace in Bakbattahl, I suggest entering the palace through the main entrance. Here's another quick breakdown: Upon reaching the flame altar, turn left. Now, enter the first room on the left, which leads to a ramp ending in a spiral staircase. Follow this, sticking to the left wall until you come across a door about halfway down the ramp. Enter to find a large room with a dead dragon. Walk past it, and a brief cutscene featuring NPCs Jerome and Yglie discussing a letter being delivered there will play. Watching this cutscene moves you to the next phase of the quest. How to find the secret letter from Vermund The letter mentioned by the NPCs is located in Laboratorium Workshop #2, which is next to the room with the dead dragon altar. Upon entering, you'll find the \"Letter to Lord Phaesus\" on a desk in the center of the room. Interact with it to pick it up.
