After all, the timing seems to line up\u2014the Borderlands movie is right around the corner, and we had Borderlands 3 a good five years back. \u201cI\u2019m confident that our fans are going to be very, very happy with the next video game project when we are ready to announce it,\u201d Pitchford told GamesRadar in a July 27 interview. \u201cI will tell you that we\u2019re not going to be making people wait for a long time before we announce it.\u201d While this could potentially hint at a hypothetical Borderlands 4, a sequel to 2022\u2019s Tiny Tina\u2019s Wonderlands is not out of consideration. Gearbox had \u201chad a bigger result with the first Wonderlands game\u201d compared to the first Borderlands game. \u201cSo that's something we can build on,\u201d added Pitchford. Earlier this year, in February, mentions of Borderlands 4 and Tiny Tina\u2019s Wonderlands 2 were found on a former Gearbox employee\u2019s LinkedIn profile. While not wholly conclusive as to whether we will get announcements for those games soon, Pitchford\u2019s recent comments will have fans of the looter shooter series excited. As for the Borderlands movie, Pitchford dropped hints for a potential sequel even before the launch of the original, which premieres Aug. 9. We\u2019ll get to hear more about the next Borderlands film \u201cbefore the end of the year,\" according to Pitchford. \"We'll see. After all, the timing seems to line up\u2014the Borderlands movie is right around the corner, and we had Borderlands 3 a good five years back. \u201cI\u2019m confident that our fans are going to be very, very happy with the next video game project when we are ready to announce it,\u201d Pitchford told GamesRadar in a July 27 interview. \u201cI will tell you that we\u2019re not going to be making people wait for a long time before we announce it.\u201d While this could potentially hint at a hypothetical Borderlands 4, a sequel to 2022\u2019s Tiny Tina\u2019s Wonderlands is not out of consideration. Gearbox had \u201chad a bigger result with the first Wonderlands game\u201d compared to the first Borderlands game. \u201cSo that's something we can build on,\u201d added Pitchford. Earlier this year, in February, mentions of Borderlands 4 and Tiny Tina\u2019s Wonderlands 2 were found on a former Gearbox employee\u2019s LinkedIn profile. While not wholly conclusive as to whether we will get announcements for those games soon, Pitchford\u2019s recent comments will have fans of the looter shooter series excited. As for the Borderlands movie, Pitchford dropped hints for a potential sequel even before the launch of the original, which premieres Aug. 9.
