If you want to add this avian creature to your tribe, we've got all the details you need. Each new map added to Ark Survival Ascended adds an entirely new creature, with Yi Ling following the likes of Shastasaurus, Gigantoraptor, and Fasolasuchus onto the scene\u2014but finding and taming them is always a challenge. We've done the hard work to crack the code and work out the process, which we've detailed below. How to find a Yi Ling in Ark: Survival Ascended Yi Ling is found exclusively on Aberration in Ark: Survival Ascended and does not spawn on other maps. However, you can transfer Yi Ling and any other Aberration creatures to another map once they have been tamed. Although Aberration is full of dangers. the map is also helpfully color-coded for most of the areas. When hunting for Yi Ling, stick to the green areas of the map\u2014which are easily identified by the large, brown mushrooms in this area. Yi Ling is a creature that glides and clings to rocks, so look up when hunting for Yi Ling. This creature is extremely aggressive, however, so it's likely it will see you first. How to tame a Yi Ling in Ark: Survival Ascended The taming method for Yi Ling in Ark: Survival Ascended is extremely difficult, as it is not a standard aggressive knockout tame, nor is it a passive tame. Instead, it features a new mechanic exclusive to the creature. Yi Ling is extremely aggressive, so ensure you are high-level and tanky. If you need to, you can reset your stats with a Mindwipe Tonic and pump points into health, stamina, and other stats to help you survive. If you are not strong enough to endure Yi Ling's hits, there's no escape from death. Plant Species Z seeds are also required. These are exclusive to Aberration and can be thrown as grenades. I recommend bringing Biotoxin, as this works much more effectively than Narcotics, but the latter also works. Finally, bring a shield to endure Quill hits from Yi Ling, ideally a Riot Shield, and a sufficient amount of Prime Meat or Mutton\u2014the required amount depends on Yi Ling's level, but you can gather more while it is knocked out. To knock out Yi Ling, throw Plant Species Z seeds at it\u2014but only when it initiates a dive bomb attack. A dive bomb occurs after around every 30-40 fires of Quills from Yi-Ling. Throw the Planet Species Z seed at its head when it dive bombs and passively feed it Biotoxin or Narcotic to raise it's Torpidity. Repeat the process until the Torpidity meter is full and Yi Ling falls unconscious. When unconscious, add Prime Meat or Mutton into Yi Ling's inventory. Each new map added to Ark Survival Ascended adds an entirely new creature, with Yi Ling following the likes of Shastasaurus, Gigantoraptor, and Fasolasuchus onto the scene\u2014but finding and taming them is always a challenge. We've done the hard work to crack the code and work out the process, which we've detailed below. How to find a Yi Ling in Ark: Survival Ascended Yi Ling is found exclusively on Aberration in Ark: Survival Ascended and does not spawn on other maps. However, you can transfer Yi Ling and any other Aberration creatures to another map once they have been tamed. Although Aberration is full of dangers. the map is also helpfully color-coded for most of the areas. When hunting for Yi Ling, stick to the green areas of the map\u2014which are easily identified by the large, brown mushrooms in this area. Yi Ling is a creature that glides and clings to rocks, so look up when hunting for Yi Ling. This creature is extremely aggressive, however, so it's likely it will see you first. How to tame a Yi Ling in Ark: Survival Ascended The taming method for Yi Ling in Ark: Survival Ascended is extremely difficult, as it is not a standard aggressive knockout tame, nor is it a passive tame. Instead, it features a new mechanic exclusive to the creature. Yi Ling is extremely aggressive, so ensure you are high-level and tanky. If you need to, you can reset your stats with a Mindwipe Tonic and pump points into health, stamina, and other stats to help you survive. If you are not strong enough to endure Yi Ling's hits, there's no escape from death. Plant Species Z seeds are also required. These are exclusive to Aberration and can be thrown as grenades. I recommend bringing Biotoxin, as this works much more effectively than Narcotics, but the latter also works. Finally, bring a shield to endure Quill hits from Yi Ling, ideally a Riot Shield, and a sufficient amount of Prime Meat or Mutton\u2014the required amount depends on Yi Ling's level, but you can gather more while it is knocked out. To knock out Yi Ling, throw Plant Species Z seeds at it\u2014but only when it initiates a dive bomb attack. A dive bomb occurs after around every 30-40 fires of Quills from Yi-Ling. Throw the Planet Species Z seed at its head when it dive bombs and passively feed it Biotoxin or Narcotic to raise it's Torpidity. Repeat the process until the Torpidity meter is full and Yi Ling falls unconscious. When unconscious, add Prime Meat or Mutton into Yi Ling's inventory.
