The Crew 2 <\/em>has surged to new records on Steam following the announcement of an added offline option and a bargain sale.<\/p>
The 2018 title is available on Steam for just one dollar and, after some good news about The Crew 2’s <\/em>future, has now surged past 28,000 concurrent players<\/a> at the time of writing\u2014with the record breaking almost every minute.<\/p>

The sale comes alongside a big decision from Ubisoft who, having earned backlash for shutting down the servers for the first game in The Crew <\/em>series in March, announced an offline mode for The Crew 2 <\/em>and The Crew Motorfest<\/em> would be coming in the future<\/a>\u2014a further piece of good news for fans of the franchise.<\/p>
The Crew 2’s <\/em>new record on Steam more than doubles its previous best, a figure of around 12,000 set during a free-play weekend in July 2021. It also significantly eclipses the Steam player base for Motorfest, <\/em>the most recent entry in the series, though that title set a new all-time peak of 1,364<\/a> yesterday.<\/p>
Coupled together, the two pieces of news have resulted in a huge boost for The Crew <\/em>franchise, particularly at a time when the explorer-driving sim genre is in a difficult position as Forza Horizon 5 <\/em>is now deep into its lifespan and Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown <\/em>has been plagued with server issues.<\/a><\/p>
