This ability allows Gardevoir to move an extra Psychic token from the Energy Zone once per turn, which can help get Mewtwo ex ready to use the heavy-hitting Psydrive attack quickly. It can also help to set up Mew ex for a quick attack, increasing the speed at which this deck can attack. Mew ex covers any gaps in the strategy with Genome Hacking, allowing it to pick up an opponent's Active Pok\u00e9mon's attack and use it for just three Colorless Energy. This can help you use various damage types while, in some cases, avoiding common Energy taxes. We've opted for a deck list that focuses on the Mewtwo ex and the Gardevoir lines, but there are other popular variants that feature: Farfetch'd for an Energy-efficient 40 damage in the early stages of the game Jynx for a stacking attack that deals more damage if your opponent has lots of Energy Meowth for simple draw power that can help you find necessary cards Mythical Slab for easy draw power, focusing on Psychic-types in particular Blue for damage mitigation and additional support Non ex Mewtwo for protection against Pikachu ex and additional damage It's always best to experiment when putting together a Pocket deck, so try swapping these cards in and out of your list to see which works best for your personal playstyle. Take a look at the rental decks in the game, too, to see which decks tend to use specific Supporter and Item combinations. How the Mewtwo ex deck works in Pok\u00e9mon TCG Pocket Mewtwo ex is the main source of damage in this deck, with Psychic Sphere dealing 50 damage and Psydrive dealing an incredible 150 damage. It's a tanky card with 150 HP, meaning it can take most hits and protect the Benched Pok\u00e9mon behind it. Using Psydrive does come with a tax\u2014two Psychic-type Energy must be discarded each time it's used. This may sound annoying, but Gardevoir nicely covers this with its Psy Shadow ability. Psy Shadow allows you to move an extra Psychic Energy token once per turn. Alongside Psy Shadow, Gardevoir also has a decent pool of 110 HP and an attack called Psyshot that deals 60 damage. It can take a hit or two, meaning you can place it in the Active Position if you're struggling to get Mewtwo ex in position for some reason. Mew ex is a newer addition to the Pocket meta, having potential access to any move in the game via Genome Hacking. This attack costs three Colorless Energy Tokens, and it takes an Active opponent's attack to use against it, opening up a range of potential Bench snipes or damage options depending on what deck the opponent is running. The wide variety of Items and Supporters in this list aims to both disrupt the opponent and keep your critters alive, with cards like Red Card and Sabrina offering a great level of control over your opponent's board and hand. Leaf is another fresh addition to Pocket, adding more movement possibilities by cutting a critter's Retreat Cost by two. Think of it like a stronger X Speed. In this deck list, Leaf acts as the perfect get-out-of-jail-free card for Mewtwo ex, letting it dip out of a tricky situation and recover. If you're facing a Poison-centric deck, for example, being able to pop Mewtwo ex back on the bench without losing any Energy can be infinitely valuable. It's also similar to our Mew ex deck list, with the main difference being card quantities and focus. It's a purely Psychic-type deck, which makes managing Energy and distributing tokens a lot easier, especially when considering Gardevoir's Psy Shadow ability. This ability allows Gardevoir to move an extra Psychic token from the Energy Zone once per turn, which can help get Mewtwo ex ready to use the heavy-hitting Psydrive attack quickly. It can also help to set up Mew ex for a quick attack, increasing the speed at which this deck can attack. Mew ex covers any gaps in the strategy with Genome Hacking, allowing it to pick up an opponent's Active Pok\u00e9mon's attack and use it for just three Colorless Energy. This can help you use various damage types while, in some cases, avoiding common Energy taxes. We've opted for a deck list that focuses on the Mewtwo ex and the Gardevoir lines, but there are other popular variants that feature: Farfetch'd for an Energy-efficient 40 damage in the early stages of the game Jynx for a stacking attack that deals more damage if your opponent has lots of Energy Meowth for simple draw power that can help you find necessary cards Mythical Slab for easy draw power, focusing on Psychic-types in particular Blue for damage mitigation and additional support Non ex Mewtwo for protection against Pikachu ex and additional damage It's always best to experiment when putting together a Pocket deck, so try swapping these cards in and out of your list to see which works best for your personal playstyle. How the Mewtwo ex deck works in Pok\u00e9mon TCG Pocket Mewtwo ex is the main source of damage in this deck, with Psychic Sphere dealing 50 damage and Psydrive dealing an incredible 150 damage. It's a tanky card with 150 HP, meaning it can take most hits and protect the Benched Pok\u00e9mon behind it. Using Psydrive does come with a tax\u2014two Psychic-type Energy must be discarded each time it's used. This may sound annoying, but Gardevoir nicely covers this with its Psy Shadow ability. Psy Shadow allows you to move an extra Psychic Energy token once per turn. Alongside Psy Shadow, Gardevoir also has a decent pool of 110 HP and an attack called Psyshot that deals 60 damage. It can take a hit or two, meaning you can place it in the Active Position if you're struggling to get Mewtwo ex in position for some reason. Mew ex is a newer addition to the Pocket meta, having potential access to any move in the game via Genome Hacking. This attack costs three Colorless Energy Tokens, and it takes an Active opponent's attack to use against it, opening up a range of potential Bench snipes or damage options depending on what deck the opponent is running. The wide variety of Items and Supporters in this list aims to both disrupt the opponent and keep your critters alive, with cards like Red Card and Sabrina offering a great level of control over your opponent's board and hand. Leaf is another fresh addition to Pocket, adding more movement possibilities by cutting a critter's Retreat Cost by two. Think of it like a stronger X Speed. In this deck list, Leaf acts as the perfect get-out-of-jail-free card for Mewtwo ex, letting it dip out of a tricky situation and recover. If you're facing a Poison-centric deck, for example, being able to pop Mewtwo ex back on the bench without losing any Energy can be infinitely valuable. Strengths and weaknesses In terms of damage output potential, Mewtwo ex is one of the best Psychic-type decks making the rounds in Pocket right now, giving popular lists like Pikachu ex and Starmie ex a run for their money. Psydrive is a Knock Out for most late-game 'mons, and Psychic Sphere can be deadly in the early game. Don't underestimate the synergy between Mewtwo ex and Gardevoir, either. Without Psy Shadow, the Psydrive attack is hard to set up and maintain, thanks to the Energy tax\u2014but with Gardevoir's ability, it's easy to manage and helps the deck to hit even harder. On the other hand, Mewtwo ex is incredibly weak to Dark-type Pok\u00e9mon. This is starting to become an issue for Mewtwo ex players in the current meta, as decks like Weezing and Scoliopede are beginning to rack up tournament wins in the competitive circuit. This deck list is also heavily reliant on Gardevoir getting into place quickly, which can be a challenge if you don't start with a good hand. Relying on a multi-evolution Pok\u00e9mon in Pocket is somewhat of a gamble, which is why decks like Starmie ex and Articuno ex are so popular. If you've pulled a Mewtwo ex card from a Genetic Apex pack in Pocket and have a Mew ex from Mythical Island to spare, make sure to take this deck list for a spin. It's incredibly fun to play, and once you've got everything set up nicely, it's almost impossible for your opponent to stop you.
