Astralis has bolstered its CS:GO <\/em>roster <\/em>with the signing of 18-year-old Philip \u201cLucky\u201d Ewald, the Danish esports organization announced today<\/a>.<\/p>
The team is working on \u201cdeveloping\u201d players with the goal to \u201cconstantly progress,\u201d according to Astralis\u2019 director of sports Kasper Hvidt<\/a>. The addition of a \u201cyoung, energetic, and extremely skilled player\u201d like Lucky is a part of this \u201cstrategy.\u201d <\/p>
The AWPer and former Tricked Esport player has shown \u201cimmense potential\u201d in the fringes of the scene, said Hvidt<\/a>. He hasn\u2019t been tested at a \u201ctop-level\u201d yet but he has a \u201clot\u201d of what Astralis is looking for. <\/p>

\u201cIf you look at [Lucky\u2019s] stats it\u2019s not a mystery why so many teams have been watching him,\u201d said Hvid<\/a>t. \u201cHis technique and game sense will contribute to the team and create new room for the other players.\u201d<\/p>
Lucky will join the team as a sixth-man and will be an active part of the roster from \u201cday one.\u201d With Lukas \u2018gla1ve\u2019 Rossander expecting his first child<\/a> later this year, the addition of Lucky could \u201cprove advantageous,\u201d said Hvidt<\/a>. <\/p>
\u201cWhen Astralis comes knocking, everything changes,\u201d Lucky said in a press release<\/a>. \u201cIt\u2019s without a doubt one of the most professional organizations and I already feel welcome and part of the family.\u201d <\/p>
\u201cI know some people are going to compare me to \u2018dev1ce\u2019 but no one can do what he does, Lucky added<\/a>. \u201cI hope I\u2019ll be able to show who I am, though, and I will work hard to contribute to the team in my own way.\u201d<\/p>
The team will join forces as a six-man roster on Aug. 9.<\/p>
