The next World of Warcraft <\/em>expansion is on the horizon and fans finally have a date they can look forward to for the expansion\u2019s reveal. Blizzard Entertainment intends to reveal WoW<\/em>\u2019s next expansion on April 19, according to a post from the World of Warcraft<\/a><\/em> Twitter account earlier today.\u00a0<\/p>
No major features have been revealed for the upcoming WoW <\/em>expansion at this time, although Blizzard intends for crossplay between Alliance and Horde characters to be available by the time Shadowlands <\/em>ends, according to a developer update<\/a> from WoW <\/em>game director Ion Hazzikostas earlier this year.\u00a0<\/p>
Traditionally, WoW<\/em> expansions have been revealed at BlizzCon across the game\u2019s history. But after this year\u2019s edition of the event was canceled outright<\/a>, the developer shifted its plans. The upcoming reveal of WoW<\/em>\u2019s next expansion will mark just the second time that an expansion was revealed outside of BlizzCon (Legion <\/em>at Gamescom 2015).\u00a0<\/p>
