Wild Rift will not launch on consoles “at this moment” the producers have declared in response to a spike in speculation and questions from the community, which has only grown louder after other Riot Games titles like VALORANT and 2XKO expanded to console platforms.
The producer’s announcement, shared on X (formerly Twitter), emphasized that the choice to forego a console launch for the handheld League of Legends game was deliberate. The main reason cited was the need to prioritize mobile development over balancing resources between mobile and console platforms. According to the producer, PapaSmoothie, the MOBA genre has not seen the same level of success on modern consoles as other genres, making the trade-off of splitting the dev team’s focus a little unwise.

The Noxian Warlord Ambessa Medarda will be coming to Wild Rift later in the year as a playable champion. This will mark the first Arcane-original champion to appear in the game, and it won’t be the only new content. Expect an Arcane-themed event to coincide with the new season’s release, as teased in a dev update shared to the Wild Rift YouTube channel.
]]>The Wild Rift and League of Legends communities are upset Riot Games seemingly used AI voiceover for the reveal video of new champion Sivir on Nov. 23. Later on, though, it was revealed on Nov. 24 that the voiceover was done by an actual voice actor instead of AI.
“The voice actor tweeted (and has since deleted) saying their voice was heavily edited and they were given no direction,” LEC play-by-play caster Aaron “Medic” Chamberlain wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter. Medic was one of the people who criticized the voiceover done for the announcement.

]]>Riot Games and Xbox have now officially joined forces. Riot’s extended multiplayer gaming catalog of League of Legends, Wild Rift, Legends of Runeterra, Teamfight Tactics, and VALORANT is coming to the massively growing Game Pass service, the companies announced today.
Players who connect an active Game Pass account to a Riot account will receive a huge amount of premium rewards and member-only benefits beginning on Monday, Dec. 12. The biggest draw is the free unlocking of the entire roster of characters (champions and agents) for League, VALORANT, and Wild Rift (although Wild Rift benefits won’t be available until January 2023). But it’s noted in the FAQ section of the press release that purchasing champion skins in League or Wild Rift also requires a “separate purchase of the champion.”

As debris starts falling down around him, captivated and proud by his own devastation, Jhin bows down, assuming his second form.
]]>The Player Dynamics team at Riot Games deals with an obscene number of in-game player reports, but the developers are planning to implement some new evaluation methods across their primary titles to reduce the amount of chat abuse and in-game toxicity, especially amongst repeat offenders.
In an Aug. 29 update on Player Dynamics, Riot said that in 2021, it averaged about 240 million reports across its game catalog, resulting in an annual total just under the 3 billion mark. By its own estimates, if every Riot employee spent 365 days a year only reviewing reports, each person would need to review “about six reports per minute to keep up.”
