During the 2020 Overwatch League season, fans will now have a way to answer these and other burning statistical questions. Days before the third season begins on Feb. 8, the Overwatch League has introduced Stats Lab, sponsored by State Farm. This website platform will allow fans to see the same current and historical data that the game\u2019s producers and statisticians use.\u00a0\u00a0 Stats Lab will provide data about heroes, matches, players, and teams for the 2020 season as well as historical data from past seasons. This includes statistics like Hero Usage, Historical Hero Usage, Fastest Map Completion Times, and more. Fans can go even deeper with data showing specifics like Clutch Final Blows, Teamfight Win Rate Comparisons, and singular Player Records.\u00a0 \u201cProviding statistics to the fans has always been my number one focus and I\u2019m super glad that we\u2019re giving fans a lot more for 2020,\u201d said Overwatch League stats producer Ben Trautman. Trautman and his team have been responsible for producing the statistics featured on league broadcasts. Previously, most of the statistics provided by Trautman\u2019s team have stayed in-house, used by casters, analysts, and producers to better understand games. Stats Lab puts this power into the hands of Overwatch League fans. \u201cThanks to help from our web team, global insights team, and more, we can share the tools that have powered this content for the last three years with the Overwatch League community,\u201d Trautman said.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 With great power comes great responsibility, though. Trautman hopes the Overwatch community can use this information to solve \u201cbar style\u201d arguments, like \"would you rather have JJoNak or Twilight as your starting flex support?\u201d Multiple fantasy leagues exist for Overwatch League fans and statistics could apply there as well. \u201cI\u2019ve always focused on statistics that tell the stories of our best players, like quantifying how insane [Jay \u201cSinatraa\u201d Won]\u2019s Zarya or [Kim \u201cHaksal] Hyo-Jong]\u2019s Brigitte was last season,\u201d Trautman said. Stats Lab data categories even extend to community jokes. One category within the platform is about \u201cFleta Deadlifts,\u201d referring to the numerous times DPS Kim \u201cFleta\u201d Byung-sun achieved more than half the total kill count of his entire team. A small number of players have also accomplished this within the Overwatch League.\u00a0 When asked which player would be next to earn their own category, Trautman gave a few surprising options. Jeong \u201cAnamo\u201d Tae-song of the New York Excelsior was the first player to average less than one death per map in a single match. \u201cAnamo-ing\u201d could be the next big thing. Lee \u201cCarpe\u201d Jae-hyeok and Park \u201cProfit\u201d Joon-yeong are also \u201con pace to reach 5,000 career Final Blows this season,\u201d according to Trautman. Stats Lab by State Farm is a beta platform that will be launched on the Overwatch League\u2019s official website. Have you ever wondered which team holds the record for the quickest King\u2019s Row attack or which player has the most final blows? During the 2020 Overwatch <\/em>League season, fans will now have a way to answer these and other burning statistical questions. <\/p>

Days before the third season begins on Feb. 8, the Overwatch<\/em> League has introduced Stats Lab, sponsored by State Farm. This website platform will allow fans to see the same current and historical data that the game\u2019s producers and statisticians use.  <\/p>

Stats Lab will provide data about heroes, matches, players, and teams for the 2020 season as well as historical data from past seasons. This includes statistics like Hero Usage, Historical Hero Usage, Fastest Map Completion Times, and more. Fans can go even deeper with data showing specifics like Clutch Final Blows, Teamfight Win Rate Comparisons, and singular Player Records. <\/p>

\u201cProviding statistics to the fans has always been my number one focus and I\u2019m super glad that we\u2019re giving fans a lot more for 2020,\u201d said Overwatch<\/em> League stats producer Ben Trautman. Trautman and his team have been responsible for producing the statistics featured on league broadcasts. <\/p>

Previously, most of the statistics provided by Trautman\u2019s team have stayed in-house, used by casters, analysts, and producers to better understand games. Stats Lab puts this power into the hands of Overwatch<\/em> League fans. <\/p>

\u201cThanks to help from our web team, global insights team, and more, we can share the tools that have powered this content for the last three years with the Overwatch<\/em> League community,\u201d Trautman said.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>

With great power comes great responsibility, though. Trautman hopes the Overwatch<\/em> community can use this information to solve \u201cbar style\u201d arguments, like “would you rather have JJoNak or Twilight as your starting flex support?\u201d Multiple fantasy leagues exist for Overwatch<\/em> League fans and statistics could apply there as well. <\/p>

\u201cI\u2019ve always focused on statistics that tell the stories of our best players, like quantifying how insane [Jay \u201cSinatraa\u201d Won]\u2019s Zarya or [Kim \u201cHaksal] Hyo-Jong]\u2019s Brigitte was last season,\u201d Trautman said.<\/p>

Stats Lab data categories even extend to community jokes. One category within the platform is about \u201cFleta Deadlifts,\u201d referring to the numerous times DPS Kim \u201cFleta\u201d Byung-sun achieved more than half the total kill count of his entire team. A small number of players have also accomplished this within the Overwatch <\/em>League.\u00a0<\/p>

When asked which player would be next to earn their own category, Trautman gave a few surprising options. Jeong \u201cAnamo\u201d Tae-song of the New York Excelsior was the first player to average less than one death per map in a single match. \u201cAnamo-ing\u201d could be the next big thing. Lee \u201cCarpe\u201d Jae-hyeok and Park \u201cProfit\u201d Joon-yeong are also \u201con pace to reach 5,000 career Final Blows this season,\u201d according to Trautman.<\/p>

Stats Lab by State Farm is a beta platform that will be launched on the Overwatch<\/em> League\u2019s official website<\/a>. The third season of the league begins on Feb. 8 with games in Dallas and New York.\u00a0<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"

Days before the third season begins on Feb. 8, the Overwatch League has introduced Stats Lab, sponsored by State Farm. This website platform will allow fans to see the same current and historical data that the game\u2019s producers and statisticians use.\u00a0\u00a0 Stats Lab will provide data about heroes, matches, players, and teams for the 2020 season as well as historical data from past seasons. This includes statistics like Hero Usage, Historical Hero Usage, Fastest Map Completion Times, and more. Fans can go even deeper with data showing specifics like Clutch Final Blows, Teamfight Win Rate Comparisons, and singular Player Records.\u00a0 \u201cProviding statistics to the fans has always been my number one focus and I\u2019m super glad that we\u2019re giving fans a lot more for 2020,\u201d said Overwatch League stats producer Ben Trautman. Trautman and his team have been responsible for producing the statistics featured on league broadcasts. Previously, most of the statistics provided by Trautman\u2019s team have stayed in-house, used by casters, analysts, and producers to better understand games. Stats Lab puts this power into the hands of Overwatch League fans. \u201cThanks to help from our web team, global insights team, and more, we can share the tools that have powered this content for the last three years with the Overwatch League community,\u201d Trautman said.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 With great power comes great responsibility, though. Trautman hopes the Overwatch community can use this information to solve \u201cbar style\u201d arguments, like \"would you rather have JJoNak or Twilight as your starting flex support?\u201d Multiple fantasy leagues exist for Overwatch League fans and statistics could apply there as well. \u201cI\u2019ve always focused on statistics that tell the stories of our best players, like quantifying how insane [Jay \u201cSinatraa\u201d Won]\u2019s Zarya or [Kim \u201cHaksal] Hyo-Jong]\u2019s Brigitte was last season,\u201d Trautman said. Stats Lab data categories even extend to community jokes. One category within the platform is about \u201cFleta Deadlifts,\u201d referring to the numerous times DPS Kim \u201cFleta\u201d Byung-sun achieved more than half the total kill count of his entire team. A small number of players have also accomplished this within the Overwatch League.\u00a0 When asked which player would be next to earn their own category, Trautman gave a few surprising options. Jeong \u201cAnamo\u201d Tae-song of the New York Excelsior was the first player to average less than one death per map in a single match. \u201cAnamo-ing\u201d could be the next big thing. Lee \u201cCarpe\u201d Jae-hyeok and Park \u201cProfit\u201d Joon-yeong are also \u201con pace to reach 5,000 career Final Blows this season,\u201d according to Trautman. Stats Lab by State Farm is a beta platform that will be launched on the Overwatch League\u2019s official website.
