We'll be helping out players who want to design the best Widowmaker crosshair in Overwatch 2. Widowmaker is one of the tougher heroes to design a crosshair for. Since Widowmaker requires such precise accuracy, players want to ensure their crosshair is optimal to take an enemy's head off with ease. However, Widowmaker mains don't want to make the crosshair too small, otherwise, they might have a hard time seeing it at long-range. Below, we'll go over the best crosshair to use for Widowmaker. Best crosshair settings for Widowmaker in Overwatch 2 Widowmaker is one of the few heroes in Overwatch 2 that requires pure skills to be successful, so experimenting with her crosshair is ideal for players to feel comfortable and get the most out of the hero. To change your crosshair, hit \"Escape\" and open the Options menu. From there, choose Controls, and scroll down to Reticle. Open the Advanced crosshair menu, and select Widowmaker to modify your crosshair for this hero only. Weapon Mode: Both Type: Crosshairs Show Accuracy: Off Color: Any bright or neon color, like cyan, green, or magenta. Thickness: One Crosshair Length: Seven to 10 Center Gap: Zero or five, depending on if you'd like a space in the middle of your crosshair. Opacity: 100 percent Outline Color: Black Outline Opacity: 100 percent Outline Thickness: One Outline Shift: One Dot Size: Zero Dot Opacity: Zero percent Scale with Resolution: On Widowmaker has little wiggle room when trying to hit a target, needing to be extremely accurate to get shots from a long distance. When playing Widowmaker, you're most effective if you hit headshots, so optimizing your crosshair to hit heads is a must. Widowmaker's crosshair uses a smaller center space than most other heroes. You can choose if you'd prefer a space in the middle of your crosshair or not, determined by the Center Gap measurement. A Center Gap of zero means your crosshair will have completely intersecting lines, while a higher Center Gap gives you open space in the middle. For playing Widowmaker, we would suggest never raising this value higher than five, though you can experiment as you see fit. A small center space paired with shorter lines extending from the crosshair gives players a good idea of where the middle of a target is. Using this information, players can best determine where they want to shoot a target. In Overwatch 2's season eight patch, Blizzard added a few new crosshair settings, including more flexibility with crosshair outline color, thickness, and opacity. In addition, Widowmaker players can now choose to have a different crosshair when scoped in versus when hip-firing. Since most of the time, you'll want to only be shooting targets while aimed down your sights, we don't specifically recommend having two different crosshairs. Our recommended crosshair in this article is designed to serve Widowmaker players best when they are scoped in, at a safe distance away from their targets. As Widowmaker, you should be scoped in 90 percent of the time, and should only hip fire in emergencies. If you find your Widowmaker crosshair looks different after the Dec. 2023 patch, you may be experiencing a change in the reticle dot settings that has been creating dots in Overwatch 2 crosshairs that didn't have them before the patch. Make sure to set your dot size and transparency to zero to remove this effect. Having a smaller crosshair will allow players to set their sights on that part of an enemy's body without it covering up the entire region. Yet, players won't want lines that are too short, because you risk losing your crosshair in a chaotic field of view. Players can tinker with these settings as they see fit. Since Widowmaker requires such precise accuracy, players want to ensure their crosshair is optimal to take an enemy's head off with ease. However, Widowmaker mains don't want to make the crosshair too small, otherwise, they might have a hard time seeing it at long-range. Below, we'll go over the best crosshair to use for Widowmaker. Best crosshair settings for Widowmaker in Overwatch 2 Widowmaker is one of the few heroes in Overwatch 2 that requires pure skills to be successful, so experimenting with her crosshair is ideal for players to feel comfortable and get the most out of the hero. To change your crosshair, hit \"Escape\" and open the Options menu. From there, choose Controls, and scroll down to Reticle. Open the Advanced crosshair menu, and select Widowmaker to modify your crosshair for this hero only. Weapon Mode: Both Type: Crosshairs Show Accuracy: Off Color: Any bright or neon color, like cyan, green, or magenta. Thickness: One Crosshair Length: Seven to 10 Center Gap: Zero or five, depending on if you'd like a space in the middle of your crosshair. Opacity: 100 percent Outline Color: Black Outline Opacity: 100 percent Outline Thickness: One Outline Shift: One Dot Size: Zero Dot Opacity: Zero percent Scale with Resolution: On Widowmaker has little wiggle room when trying to hit a target, needing to be extremely accurate to get shots from a long distance. When playing Widowmaker, you're most effective if you hit headshots, so optimizing your crosshair to hit heads is a must. Widowmaker's crosshair uses a smaller center space than most other heroes. You can choose if you'd prefer a space in the middle of your crosshair or not, determined by the Center Gap measurement. A Center Gap of zero means your crosshair will have completely intersecting lines, while a higher Center Gap gives you open space in the middle. For playing Widowmaker, we would suggest never raising this value higher than five, though you can experiment as you see fit. A small center space paired with shorter lines extending from the crosshair gives players a good idea of where the middle of a target is. Using this information, players can best determine where they want to shoot a target. In Overwatch 2's season eight patch, Blizzard added a few new crosshair settings, including more flexibility with crosshair outline color, thickness, and opacity. In addition, Widowmaker players can now choose to have a different crosshair when scoped in versus when hip-firing. Since most of the time, you'll want to only be shooting targets while aimed down your sights, we don't specifically recommend having two different crosshairs. Our recommended crosshair in this article is designed to serve Widowmaker players best when they are scoped in, at a safe distance away from their targets. As Widowmaker, you should be scoped in 90 percent of the time, and should only hip fire in emergencies. If you find your Widowmaker crosshair looks different after the Dec. 2023 patch, you may be experiencing a change in the reticle dot settings that has been creating dots in Overwatch 2 crosshairs that didn't have them before the patch. Make sure to set your dot size and transparency to zero to remove this effect. Having a smaller crosshair will allow players to set their sights on that part of an enemy's body without it covering up the entire region. Yet, players won't want lines that are too short, because you risk losing your crosshair in a chaotic field of view. Players can tinker with these settings as they see fit. We recommend hopping into a custom game that specializes in aim training. We've previously selected a few specific aim training courses that players can use to really master Widowmaker's tricky sniper rifle. These courses are also great for learning a specific crosshair and making small adjustments to get it to where players like.
