All Merlin Trial types in Hogwarts Legacy While every Merlin Trial will look a bit different, players will come across only\u00a0nine types of puzzles. This means that although each one appears unique, they share similar gameplay aspects, and players can learn to master\u00a0completing each unique trial type. Here are the nine types of Merlin Trials that players will come across in\u00a0Hogwarts Legacy: Name DescriptionMoonstone pillar Merlin Trial This Merlin Trial will contain three moonstone pillars; the primary spell to use is Lumos. Flipendo Merlin Trial This Merlin Trial will require you to utilize Flipendo and maneuver blocks to match the top symbols with the bottom pillar symbols. Stone pillar Merlin Trial This Merlin Trial will need a mixture of Confringo and Revelio. Make sure to light the top of the stone pillars and reveal the other pillars to finish the trial. Rolling stone sphere Merlin Trial This Merlin Trial will need Depulso or Wingardium Leviosa and Revelio. You must get the huge rolling stone into the pit on the ground. Flaming pot Merlin Trial This Merlin Trial requires Confringo or Incendio, where players need to be quick about the lighting of the pots before they sink into the ground. Stone ball pile Merlin Trial This Merlin Trial will need Wingardium Leviosa or Accio to return the piles of stone balls to their platforms. Standing Stones Pillar Parkour Merlin Trial This Merlin Trial will require you to finish a parkour course by jumping on each platform or utilizing your broomstick. Each trial has different requirements and tasks that players will need to complete. Still, a general similarity that will help players complete all of them is to\u00a0utilize Revelio\u00a0after activating the Merlin Trial with\u00a0Mallosweet Leaves. This will allow you to see where the trial pieces are located, as they might be hidden or difficult to find. How to solve Moonstone pillar Merlin Trials In this Merlin Trial, the only spell you need is\u00a0Lumos. You'll know that the one you are looking at is the moonstone pillar trial if you see three pillars around the Merlin Trial area, all of which have moonstones placed within them. After activating this trial with Mallowsweet Leaves, immediately activate the Lumos spell and walk around the area to find the glowing blue moths. Keeping Lumos activated is a great way to gather them more quickly because even if you accidentally miss them, they will still come to you if you walk near them with the spell activated. Once you have one swarm of moths hovering around your ignited wand, head back to one of the pillars, and they will immediately leave your rod in favor of the moonstone pillar. Repeat this process\u00a0twice,\u00a0and the Merlin Trial will be complete. Specific instances of this Merlin Trial may call for players to utilize another spell to access a gathering of Moths, such as one in the Forbidden Forest area where the moths are hidden behind overgrown vines. Thus, players should\u00a0consider ensuring they have a solid arsenal of spells\u00a0before they tackle these challenges, as they might not be able to complete some of them without certain other spells. How to solve Flipendo Merlin Trials The Flipendo Merlin Trial will present players with a few stone pillars with unique symbols. At the top of each pillar, there is a block that players can interact with. Players must utilize Flipendo to align the symbols on every side to solve this type of Merlin Trial.\u00a0Flipendo will flip the block\u00a0on top of the pillar whichever way players aim at it, so players will want to carefully check all sides before casting this spell. The best way to solve this puzzle is to locate one symbol on the bottom half of the pillar, which is the half that cannot be moved, and\u00a0find its matching counterpart on the block on top, which is what players can move utilizing Flipendo. Stay focused on only one set of symbols and cast Flipendo in every way needed until you get the set of symbols to line up. All other symbols will also be lined up if you successfully complete this process. Vines will grow over a pillar\u00a0that you have successfully lined up, and all you need to do after is find the other pillars and repeat the same process until the Merlin Trial cutscene plays to let you know it is complete. How to solve stone pillar Merlin Trials This Merlin Trial is one of the most straightforward ones players will face. You'll know that you are facing this type of trial if you see standing stone pillars around the area that have a\u00a0green circle\u00a0on them. All players need to do is locate the stone pillars around the area and explode them by casting\u00a0Confringo. Some of the pillars may be hidden, so be sure to\u00a0utilize Revelio\u00a0if you strugglestill looking for them. How to solve rolling stone sphere Merlin Trials While this trial is simple enough, players might need help locating its pieces as they are often placed a solid distance from the Merlin Trial area. Players must utilize either\u00a0Depulso\u00a0or\u00a0Wingardium Leviosa\u00a0to complete this type of trial. Both spells can be used, but depending on the specific trial, Depulso may be challenging to use successfully, while\u00a0Wingardium Leviosa will always be easy. The first step of this trial is locating the hole in the ground. Once you have found the hole, you'll need to search the surrounding area to locate the stone sphere you need to return to.\u00a0Revelio is extremely helpful\u00a0here since the sphere can be challenging to find. After finding the sphere, use one of the two spells to return it to the hole. If you're using\u00a0Wingardium Leviosa, you need to levitate it and make your way back. If you're using\u00a0Depulso, you might have to go back and forth a lot as you try to get the sphere to go in the direction you want.
