But in this dragon-themed expansion, crafted gear like Elemental Lariat has become the best-in-slot gear, especially when you upgrade it. The crafting, and later upgrading process, for many WoW players who are not crafters themselves can be rather confusing and difficult to pick up. Originally, the main reagent you needed to craft your gear was Sparks of Ingenuity. In Patch 10.1 the main crafting reagent was Sparks of Shadowflame. Now, in patch 10.2, the main crafting reagent is Spark of Dreams. You usually need just one Sparks of Dreams to craft a single piece of gear, and you won\u2019t need any more of them to recraft and upgrade the gear. Instead, you\u2019ll need special crafted items to do that. Now, I'm sure this is a lot to take in but bare with me, it's really simple after you do it once. How do you upgrade crafted gear in WoW Dragonflight? Once you\u2019ve crafted your first item with Sparks of Dreams and other necessary reagents, you want to get your hands on Enchanted Dreaming Crests. Just like in Seasons one and two, this is the newest crafting upgrade reagent in Season three. And just like before, there are three versions of it: Enchanted Whelpling\u2019s Dreaming Crest: Used to upgrade your crafted gear up to levels 434 to 447 Enchanted Wyrm\u2019s Dreaming Crest: Used to upgrade your crafted gear up to levels 463 to 476 Enchanted Aspect\u2019s Dreaming Crest: Used to upgrade your crafted gear up to levels 473 to 486 Enchanted Dreaming Crests can only be crafted by Enchanters who have obtained this recipe from chests and rare bosses in the Emerald Dream or by planting Dreamseeds. You can do this in the new Emerald Dream zone. But, if you\u2019re not an Enchanter yourself, you need to order the Enchanted Dreaming Crests via Crafting Orders in Valdrakken. You can either set it to Public Order, Guild Order, or Personal Order.\u00a0 It's weird talking about all this because I, myself, play as an enchanter so I don't ever have to deal with these types of crafting orders. So, if you want to weed out the middleman too, may I suggest taking up Enchanting? So, now that you have your Enchanted Dreaming Crest and original crafted item, once again head out to the Crafting Orders station in Valdrakken, select the item you want to upgrade, provide Enchanted Dreaming Crests and the necessary materials, and again set a Public Order, Guild Order, or Personal Order, and wait for it to be fulfilled. To upgrade your gear, you\u2019ll need a Blacksmith, Leatherworker, Tailor, or an Enchanter specialized in crafting gear. If you don\u2019t have any friends or guildmates playing crafters, you can always find active crafters promoting themselves in the Trade Chat.\u00a0 Remember, Enchanted Dreaming Crest will be consumed upon use, and to upgrade your crafted gear to the next level, you\u2019ll need the next type of Enchanted Dreaming Crests. How to upgrade gear step-by-step guide in WoW Dragonflight So, to quickly recap, the steps you need to do to recraft and upgrade your gear are as follows: Craft your gear Obtain Enchanted Dreaming Crests via Crafting Orders or by crafting them yourself if you\u2019re an Enchanter Acquire necessary upgrade materials Update the gear by\u00a0ordering it via Crafting Orders or upgrading it yourself In a nutshell, upgrading gear in WoW Dragonflight season three is pretty much the same as it was in Season two except the items you get will be of a higher item level. Still, once you have everything you need, you'll be well on your way to crafting some high-level gear.
