In an interview with IGN, Konami confirmed that players should expect to see several issues, including subtitles that aren't synced with the audio, typos, aspect ratio inconsistencies, slowdowns during cutscenes, and various other bugs and glitches. PC players won\u2019t be able to switch between windowed and full-screen mode and will require a controller to play Metal Gear Solid 1, according to Konami. Admitting one's mistakes is admirable, but this announcement is interesting because the collection isn\u2019t even out officially. At the same time, we can't ignore that some of these games are over 30 years old. In 2011, Konami released the Metal Gear Solid HD Collection for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, and both versions had their own share of bugs and issues that haven\u2019t been addressed to this day. In 2020, several Metal Gear Solid games came to Good Old Games in poor states as well. Given Konami\u2019s history of porting Metal Gear Solid games to modern platforms and systems, it\u2019s no wonder the Metal Gear Solid Collection Vol. 1 will also launch with some issues, especially on Nintendo Switch, where the framerate will be capped at 30 FPS. With that said, at least Konami did give us a heads-up. Many fans likely hope the post-launch patch will also address issues that have been plaguing past MGS re-releases.
